Santiago City Council triples its support for Biopolo Sionlla with €150,000 to attract talent and innovation

Santiago City Council and the Tambre Business Area Association have reinforced their strategic partnership with an agreement endowed with €150,000—triple that of the previous financial year—with the aim of consolidating Biopolo Sionlla as the major driver of economic diversification and innovation in the city.

This budget increase will be mainly allocated to hiring a specialized technical secretariat tasked with showcasing the potential of the facilities at both a regional and international level.

Constant growth and new additions

The biopolo’s ecosystem continues to expand its activity. It currently features five spaces occupied by benchmark entities such as Zinpro, Sunrock Biopharma, I-grape, Neutron Insights, and the venture capital firm Unirisco.

Joining this group next January will be Kiral Medicines, a firm specializing in drug discovery and chemical proteomics. Furthermore, negotiations are well advanced for the arrival of a new project linked to the field of oncology health, which will help to further optimize the infrastructure’s performance.

Upcoming objectives

Looking ahead, the project focuses its next challenges on:

  • Boosting Phase 2: Developing the more than 65,000 square meters adjacent to Csieb, geared towards the industrial production of biotechnology companies.

  • Improving services: Making definitive progress on creating the conservation entity alongside the public administrations to optimize services and maintenance in the business park.
